The Educational Institution is a school district that includes four pre-primary schools (3 to 5 years old) and four primary schools (6 to 10 years old). It is the centre for Teaching Foreign Languages in the local District recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education (it includes 20 school districts); it trains teachers in the learning and teaching of foreign languages. It is part of a local net of schools of different levels (from 3 to 19 years old) that promotes training, seminars and conferences for teachers and parents. It is one of the Regional Centres of the net “Europe and Education” whose aim is to help schools to develop the European dimension of education.

In our role as academic staff, we mainly deal with a variety of issues such as English language methodology, teacher training, language pedagogy in multicultural contexts, language teaching and learning through new tools, and English as an International language.
The interdisciplinary research strategy of the Department of Oriental Studies, University of Turin, benefits from a range of approaches with the purpose to explore the current status of English today, especially in multi-ethnic educational settings. Moreover, thanks to a connection with the University of Lyon 2 (France), we can also operate within international research projects.
We also have links with school-based teaching placements and educational publishing.
